I had been there for 5 days being monitored. On Friday afternoon the doctor did a sonagram and said that they would be taking my son early and that it would be that night! I called my mom to tell her and it was around 4:30pm she was just fixing to leave work for home. We live across the river from Baton Rouge so anyway that travels across the bridge knows that I-10 traffic that time of the afternoon is insane! Well, once I called her to tell her the baby was coming that day she hung up the phone without a word and I tell you she was at Womans Hospital in 25 minutes! She ran in the room looking all discombobulated and had the most priceless look on her face lol. Her being there for the birth of my son and how intent she was on being there is only one of the best memories I have of my mom !Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13046470947909271376noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17303198.post-34658707571686321942010-04-01T18:45:11.618-07:002010-04-01T18:45:11.618-07:00Hey love your jewlrey.....Brandy Helms sent me to ...Hey love your jewlrey.....Brandy Helms sent me to your site and I'm very impressed!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17303198.post-65233304417347805162010-04-01T07:03:36.563-07:002010-04-01T07:03:36.563-07:00one of my favs from when I was younger, watching h...one of my favs from when I was younger, watching her getting ready for church on Sunday mornings. pretty clothes, perfume, earrings etc.Katiehttp://lifethroughmy35mm.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17303198.post-7298999538165698482010-04-01T06:17:49.043-07:002010-04-01T06:17:49.043-07:00I follow your blog :)I follow your blog :)Sydneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16392356969666907841noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17303198.post-43926496878409102432010-04-01T06:17:09.185-07:002010-04-01T06:17:09.185-07:00What a fun giveaway Jill :)

She turned to hand my brother a frying pan to dry and he acted as if she was going to beat him with it. The look on her face was priceless because this is a woman, who never raised a hand to us, let alone beat us with objects. I think her and I laughed so hard at my poor brother, who has yet to live it down everytime the three of us are doing dishes together.Sydneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16392356969666907841noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17303198.post-27288977979800665012010-03-31T19:27:55.315-07:002010-03-31T19:27:55.315-07:00my most memorble moment of my mother would have to...my most memorble moment of my mother would have to be when i shot the neighbor with my brother's air rifle and she screamed at us "Bring me the God Damned gun... She was an RN and busted her butt each night, slept maybe 4 hours, and made sure that she spent time with us before heading back into the hospital each evening.

We'd get home from school and wake her up by quietly climbing into her bed, surrounding her, and jiggling her butt while singing the Jello song - "What it wiiiiiigggle! See it jiiiiiigle!"

She tolerated each wiggling moment. And never kicked us out. Love Mom. I watched her take her last breath. I kissed her goodbye.

My mom had been very ill for several years. She was in and out of the hospital all the time. We were making plans for her to come up to Kansas and live with us so that I could take care of her. She died two weeks before she was going to move in with us.

The best memory of my mom is the look on her face when she died. The look on her face was the look of peace. She was finally at peace after enduring all the pain and suffering she had gone through. I was so very thankful for that look of peace. It comforted me.

Happy Mother's Day, Mom. I love you. Thanks, Jill, for letting me share the memory.Teri Prochaskahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09096967184794370626noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17303198.post-3678243943738915312010-03-31T16:34:09.628-07:002010-03-31T16:34:09.628-07:00I have so many wonderful memories of my mom, so pi...I have so many wonderful memories of my mom, so picking my favorite is going to be hard. I'm going to post the first one that came to mind. It's actually one of my favorite Christmas memories too. Jason and I had been trying for a while to conceive, and had all but given up.
So, we did the next best thing and bought a new house! lol The Saturday after Thanksgiving 2005 while Jason was at school (MBA), I took a tested and it was POSITIVE!!! YAY!!!!
I was so excited, nervous, and scared all at the same time. I had planned on being very creative in the way I told Jason, but all that went out the window; Jason was going to be home in about an hour. So, off to WalMart I went. I bought a cute baby pic frame and went home and printed an super sappy poem to put in it. It was perfect, we laughed and cried.
After much discussion we decided to keep it a secret from EVERYONE until Christmas; talk about hard to do, I wanted to scream it from the rooftop. Finally after 4 long weeks of waiting Christmas arrived. I usually feel that there is not enough time between Thanksgiving and Christmas, but that year it feel like time had slowed tremendously.
So, on Christmas Eve I told everyone that they had gifts to open, but they had to open them at the same time (mom, dad, Morgan and Nikki). They just assumed it was our matching PJs, a tradition in our family. They each had a personalized ultrasound pic and a baby gift (my mom had a baby LSU onesie). I have never heard my mom scream so loud. She was screaming, crying, and laughing all at the same time. It was perfect....just how I imagined it would be. She started calling everyone to tell them news, now keep in mind it's like 11pm on Christmas Eve. ... See More
Nikki was estatic, Morgan was crying b/c she would no longer be an only child and was not the happiest about it, my dad was listening to the IPOD he got and was oblivious to everything going on, and the dogs were going NUTSO with all the commotion. It was truly perfect, and on days when I miss my mom more than normal I break out the video and watch it. Thats right, we videoed the whole thing...every crazy minute it.
Sorry that my memory has turned into a novel, but when I start talking about my mom I can go on and on for hours!
Another fave is all the pics I have of her and my girls. I am so blessed to have had such a wonderful mom. Happy Easter Mom, I love you!!!!Rhonda S.noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17303198.post-49232774859005543242010-03-31T13:21:20.170-07:002010-03-31T13:21:20.170-07:00I have so many great memories of my mom. We had such a great time laughing and getting knocked over by the waves. It was great. Sadly, my mom passed away from pancreatic cancer in 1996 at the young age of 65. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of her.Sandra Jossahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08422308192116466523noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17303198.post-81390283233027383432010-03-31T11:25:26.936-07:002010-03-31T11:25:26.936-07:00Following
