Five Dollar Friday is ON!
Tuesday, April 21, 2009
So apparently I've been very opinionated lately.
Not sure what that is about. I'm waiting on someone to tell me off or something. Though, surely, as I tend to lean towards the dramatic, my mother will likely leave a comment telling me I'm not as harsh as I think I am, and to get over myself. :) (And yes, I'm very aware that I can be dramatic sometimes. You should see my siblings. Sheesh!)
A friend calls me last night bored out of her mind.
Now, this person may or may not read my blog so I don't want her thinking I'm talking behind her back. Its more about the topic than anything, really.
I've noticed a good many people commenting on how bored they are recently... that there's nothing to do. Well. I do declare my lovelies, there is PLENTY to do. It may be the weather getting people all restless, so here, let me give you something to do:
Weed your garden. Or plant something new! Give yourself a little exercise, enjoy the warm sun and cool breeze. Right now the weather is perfect in Louisiana and I'm going for a walk this evening with my little sis to enjoy it.
Go for a walk. As I am, said above. Get a partner to go with you or throw on your iPod. Not only does it get your blood flowing, it will boost your mood. Promise.
Cook ahead. I rarely do this anymore, but when J was living out of town I often would cook a pot of something out of sheer boredom. Freeze it for later, use it for leftovers, or better yet - call your neighbor/friend/babysitter/kids over for a taste. Or your parents. Or the mailman.
Read a friggin' book. Sorry, I'm full of attitude lately. But seriously? Never tell me you're bored. I will THROW half my book collection at you. If you don't like to read, buy a magazine. Or even better, subscribe to one. They are ridiculously cheap and can advise you on being a better cook/lover/daughter/wife or better your workout routine. And reading, by the way, is an excellent way to keep your mind agile and young.
Rent a movie. DO IT. Know how you're always that person that has yet to see the classics that everyone quotes from? Fix it. $5 a movie rental. Or buy them in the 4 for $20 rack at Blockbuster.
Clean. Yes you heard me. And then if you find you are still bored after you've cleaned your entire house, you can come do mine.
Paint your toenails. This is for the person that hates to do all of the above. And if you don't want to do your toenails, well then, I simply cannot help you.
What do YOU do when you find yourself BORED?

Is there something wrong with me?
If I don't care that the only cleaning we did this weekend was laundry? (Okay, so that's really not even cleaning...)
If I don't care that when the pharmacist assistant told me that my bc prescription was out I told him that I HAD to start my pack that night, so I HAD to have a refill? That I JUST got married? Yes, it was to embarrass her. No I don't care if it was tacky.
If I gave my puppy the silent treatment all weekend because she did something very naughty and very disturbing on Saturday? I mean, we left her in the house because it was raining. We trusted her. She will no longer be treated like a princess.
If I do not go gaga over newborns?
If I play mafia wars far too much?
If me and J actually BOND over playing mafia wars together?
If I no longer bite my tongue although I have for most of my unmarried life? (Jason, what are you doing to me?)
If I want to throw a screaming hissy fit every time I go into Walmart?
I'm done. For now...

Cruise 2009 - Part 1
Before I bombard you with cruise photos, I'll try to answer some of the questions I forsee coming my way in the comments section:
Costa Maya, Santo Tomas, Belize City and Cozumel
Not too small
Two bed pushed together
Yes
No, not as good as Louisiana food
If I missed any of your questions, ask away. :)
Our cruise ship, the Norweigan Spirit.
A shot of us leaving New Orleans.
The front pool of the ship. It was the kid's pool and was sort of pirate themed.
I wore my hair like this for Krystal and Kevin's wedding. *snort*
This was a photo from inside our cabin, Baber sitting in our lil window. It was nice to wake up naturally every day to the sunlight. And to be honest, a little freaky at night when all you could see was the waves crashing against the boat. One word: denial. It will get you through most anything.
Our first stop: Costa Maya. We had a few minutes to kill before our Jungle Beach Break excursion, so this is J with his first cervesa. I had a pina colada of course.
I'm bouncing around a bit here: this photo is right as we're docking in Guatamala. We rode horses here in Santo Tomas, photos further down.
Costa Maya: J and his pop on the paddle boat. You can tell when you are getting older when things like paddleboating with your father is no longer embarrassing. Aren't they cute?
J and I on the beach. I know the photo is kinda dark, but we don't have a lot of shots of me and him together. And I kind of prefer myself in the shadows...
Photo taken off the lil shuttleboat on our way to a resort in Santo Tomas. These boats pretty much fly through the water, which I have serious anxiety about. (Boats and water.) Again, denial will get you through it.
My J on horseback. He makes it look easy, doesn't he?
Me and J in Santo Tomas on our stupid horses with our stupid helmets on in the stupid heat with my stupid jeans on. They told us this was a horseback adventure tour of the resort on trails. The excursion description should have read: Brave souls! Test your patience and fears! Come ride in the boiling heat on a dumbass trained horse who will not listen to you, all the while melting away underneath your non-ventilated helmet along muddy paths that will give you the ride of your life! Will the horse slip and fall? Who knows! But be careful - these horses like to cram together and put their noses in each others' butts, so its highly likely either you or your horse will get kicked or do the bucking.
*stare* I'm not bitter. Not. At. All.
After the ride, we got to relax at the resort. This is the beautiful entrance.
This was a swim up bar made out of a tree right in front of our chairs. They actually installed lights in the tree branches. So freaking cool.
And the watercave - can you see the skull?
Now this is relaxing! Check out the beautiful view behind us of the beach.
If you look closely, you can see the obnoxiously large Guatemalan (sp?) warrior spiders which were chilling right above our chairs. Lovely. Can't get any more authentic than this.
We had nachos with black beans and guacamole for lunch. Here, they called Diet Coke, "Light Coke" and you got a weird look if you asked for Diet Coke. They knew what cervesa was though! Anyway, here is some seriously hot sauce - we brought some home with us! J plans on daring his friends to taste some. Habanero. No, NO.

The Wedding Remix
Tap, tap, tap. Testing one, two. Testing one, two.
Okay so, I feel a little rusty. Bear with me?
Its been a while since my last confess-- err, blog post. As in a real one. I'm aware of it, believe me. The one thing I usually thought about all day suddenly became the thing I avoided, the thing I dreaded.
Have I told you how I run things into the ground? Yeah, I do. But I'm back and hoping to redeem myself.
I've got photos. Lots and lots of photos. Wedding photos, cruise photos, Easter photos. For the sake of keeping things in order, I'll start with the wedding. And I WAS going to post the photos in a slide since there were so many but Slide.com ate my photos not once, but TWICE. ARGH!!! Not a good way to start out my first post back.
I've only posted a handful, there are TONS.
If you hate men, disagree with marriage and despise blushing brides, do not go any further. You may lose your lunch.

I know I've been a tease...
...and I'm really sorry about that! I've been sort of burnt out on blogging. Ever get to the point where you know you should do something but you can't make yourself even to save your life? Well, I'm there.
Oh and also, I'm addicted to Facebook. And Facebook games. Come join me so I can chat y'all up there. I'm under Jill Lamonte. And I'm on ALL DAY. *nerd* I'm still slowly but surely uploading cruise photos there as well.
Good news to share: I just made my 100th sale in my Etsy shop yesterday!! I know it doesn't sound like a lot, but I've always had more sales locally than on Etsy and suddenly its booming. I appreciate everyone who supports Jillry and adopts my pieces. You guys are awesome and I wouldn't be having so much fun without you!
If you're a newbie, check it out: www.jilllamonte.etsy.com
Oh and yes, the Twilight earrings will be back soon. I sold out faster than I expected. And I'll have New Moon earrings coming up for sale as well. If you want to get on the bandwagon (read: mailing list) to know these things and about sales before anyone else, just put your email addie in the comment box or shoot me a line: blueeyez055@aol.com.
Hope you guys are doing awesome. I'll be around to read but not for long - I've got my usual date with the hubby tonight. Snuggles here we come!! :)

Five Dollar Friday
Hey girls! Yes, Five Dollar Friday is on in my shop: www.jilllamonte.etsy.com
Please remember that you must purchase two or more items to receive the items at $5 each. I'm hoping you will be honest when playing so I can keep FDFs going. Check out the details below if you need a refresher, thanks!
On other subjects - I'm back and refreshed from our cruise! I have tons of photos and in fact, am a little overwhelmed by them. After resizing them all to posting size I'll be uploading them. I also have a cd of photos from the wedding - I KNOW, almost 4 months ago and I'm just now going to post them! Anyways...
So what have I missed??
