Holiday Bites - Appetizers Shared!

The sweet Sydney S., a Jillry supporter-turned-friend, was sweet enough to share this delicious sounding dip recipe that makes me want to run to the store right now and get the fixings for.

Hot Ham and Cheese Dip

1 one pound sourdough bread
8 oz. sour cream
8 oz. cream cheese
8 oz. shredded cheddar
4 oz. Budig ham, diced
¼ cup parmesan cheese
Dash of Tabasco
¼ teaspoon garlic powder

Pre-heat oven to 350˚

Slice top off bread and set aside. Hollow out bread leaving a shell. Cut the hollowed out bread into squares.

Mix remaining ingredients and fill the shell. Replace the top of bread and completely wrap in foil. Place on a cookie sheet and heat for 1 hour.

Sydney, I cannot wait to try this one with my family. I'm thinking this would be great for our Christmas Eve party. Thanks again for sharing!

If you have a party appetizer to share we'd all love to enjoy it. Please submit your recipe to JillryLove@gmail.com.

oooh, sounds yummy!
my friend makes this easy recipe: she takes pastry dough, lays it out flat, puts brie on it, sprinkles it with nuts (walnuts, pecans..) and wraps the dough over the top of the chesse so that it's enclosed in the dough and bakes. it's serve with jam, any kind you like, but my favorite is fig jam. it's simple, but very tasty.

We just had a brie appetizer just like that for the first time about a month ago. The one we made had the jam inside w/ peacans. There were only 5 of us and we ate the entire thing, lol. I think it was raspberry but the fig jam sounds great too!
