Randomness

A few things on my mind this morning:

Say you went into someone’s office to take a break and have a chat with them. When you ask what they’re doing and they reply “I’m trying to hurry and get this document completed before 3:00 pm today” and its very well 2:30pm, would you still sit in their office and continue to talk about yourself and your fantastic weekend?

I need to know why some folks just can’t catch a hint. For example, the same person comes into your office every single day complaining about how they didn’t get any sleep last night or how their back hurts or their head hurts or all of the above. If you don’t respond or even look up at them, why do they still feel the need to come in to repeat this process? If a person ignores you, don’t you get the hint that they don’t care and don’t want to hear about your daily problems?

I’m not trying to be mean but people really need to be more self aware. I don’t need to hear e v e r y s i n g l e f r e a k i n g d a y how you’re soo tired. That shit gets old. Find something new to talk about. I’m not a wall.

On a lighter note, I love the smell of tea bag paper. Not to be mistaken with the actual tea bags. Those smell okay I guess but the paper... mmm. Babers likes to make fun of this so I’m sure he’ll leave a comment about this one.

I’m over lipstick. Tried putting it on the other day and ate it right off.

I’ve always wanted to be that chic who walks around the house in those cute knees socks but just don’t think it looks right on me. I actually own a few pair and will put them on occasionally just to check, maybe I’ll suddenly look good in them today. Nope. Back in the drawer.

That’s it for today. Holla.

Lots of people don't seem to 'get' a hint do they? They have the hide of a rhinocerous and unless you say 'excuse me but I must get this done, could we have this chat later?' they'll never 'get it'. :-(

Take care. x

You're talking about "teabagging" in your post? That's a bit....different. I can see why Babers is finding this funny. ;D

First, I'm sure that you are cute no matter what socks you are wearing.

Second, I once cut off this dude who came into my office when he was talking and asked him whether he was going to be telling me about the location of buried treasure or how to have no-strings-attached anal sex with nubile young lasses. When he said "no" I told him sorry, but that I really wasn't interested in any other topics.

I own clothes like that, too. Hopeful clothes - not that I'm too fat or anything for them, just, the look of them on me? Not my favorite. And yet I keep them around, hoping that maybe, someday, I'll magically look good in it.

One thing that has worked for me is to say, "I only have 5 minutes to talk to you." Then when 5 minutes is up, stand up and say, "I'm sorry I have to get back to this."

You are talking about someone who doesn't have great boundaries. This is something you can do that would really help them and help you keep your sanity (and your taco! ;)

Cheers

It sounds like things are just so much fun at the office now-a-days. I really don't miss it at all. You're posts have been entertaining me today... I feel like death warmed up and can't leave the bed. Yay, Jill, for being entertaining! Is the person you're talking about have a name that begins with an "L"?

hahaha! I heart you so much. :-D

Everyone looks good in knee socks! I am a total supporter of knee socks! I love them. Can't get enough of them! Knee socks rock my world!

I hate lipstick as well. I am trying to find one that lasts a lifetime so I don't have to worry about my lips looking pale and sickly. Tattoo maybe? My luck the color would go out of fashion the next day. ugh.

I'm not a knee-high socks girl either. I think it comes from being barely five feet tall. They were cool when I was ten but not so cool at um, ten times four. lol!

The annoying work chatter makes me grateful don't have to put up with people! I'd make a great shut-in.

I gave up lipstick a long time ago. I have one tube that is natural that I might put on for special occasions but really, it only lasts for about five minutes!

And Kelly, I beg to differ. I'm with Random here. I look incredibly STUPID in knee socks. I don't even try anymore. I can't do thigh highs either.

P.S. Somehow the email of your comment on my one post ended up in my spam. I commented back. Make sure you check it out because there is something you have to read if you haven't already. :)

kitty - Grr I agree. Some people are just so thick!

papa - stop egging him on Papa! You two are NOT conducive to MY comment environment. *snicker*

obesio - *blush* Thanks. I look like I'm trying to be Pippy Longstocking or something though. Maybe I should borrow your line for office interruptions.

marcia - I think its just that we love the item so much we can't let it go. Its really not healthy. :)

claudia - I'll try to use that. I'm just not good at confrontation and end up letting others walk all over me because of it. That's another post...

stephanie - *sigh* Yes you guessed it. Sometimes I just want to pull my hair out - did you feel the same about this? Hope you feel better soon!

jason - That's IT. GO TO MY ROOM.

doc - this must just be a guy thing...

kellers - hehe, back at ya hun! I bet you look cute in knee socks. Rawr! lolol. The tatooed lip scares me. Take it back.

roxy - you and me both! I would love nothing more than to just work from home every day and not have to see or talk to a single person. Hermit Jill.

damsel - i'll go peek again. I'm with you on the lipstick. I think mine have expired.

alicious - thanks! I dig your new profile pic!

If someone keeps telling me how bad they feel I usually quit asking, but then of course they have to volunteer the info.

Yep some people can't catch a hint.

girl, you think you have it bad with her going into your office... when you aren't there she calls me on my cell phone! nothing to say, just bored.

i, like a dummy, did a senior photo session today out in the cold and am feeling even worse! the pictures came out adorably, but i'll probably be spending my mardi gras in bed...

i'd say i hope work gets better... but i know it won't :( cheer up!

I've got several items of clothing in my wardrobe that I purchased without trying on (yep, dumb) but never wear because each time I put them on, I realise they look awful ! But because they either (1) cost a bomb, (2) look so damn good (3) maybe I might lose weight and that'll help or (4) I just like the way they look on my hangars....I can't get rid of them :) Knee high socks - I get the attraction, but I don't wear them either.

Lipfinity - try it, you'll love it. Comes in great colours, in matte or gloss, and if applied corectly, that baby stays put for 8 hours, through drinking, eating and whatever you may care to do with your mouth...:) I'm serious !

The world is awash with clueless fucktards. There's a lady at work who asks me every day how my "family" is just so she can blather on for half an hour all about her horrible mother and half sister.

I don't care!! I've even rolled my eyes right in her face, cos I'm a bitch, and she keeps TALKING.

Violet said...

there is a woman at work who everybody dreads when they see her coming. we've resorted to rescuing each other by interrupting conversations with excuses like "oh, violet, you have an important phone call..."

i agree that some people need to learn how to take a hint!

p.s. - i just went and looked at your scrapbook pages. i'm very impressed! i wish my pages looked even have as artistic and creative!

I think a good NINergy drink is in order for you in the mornings young lady. That or a good espresso machine which only cost 30 bux BTW at Target, good for firing the pistons.

Cheers

Teabag paper???

I love the smell of tea bag paper.
You know, tea bag paper is nothing more than thicker ply scented Charmin. :P

How about knee-high socks made from 100% used, discarded tea bags? I'll bet you could pull that look off.
